Best Flowers To Plant In April

Variety of Poppies Poppies, one of the easiest flowers to cultivate from seed, come in many varieties and hues. They grow in sidewalk cracks and small spaces year after year without your help.

Violets Violets, sometimes known as pansies or violas, are tiny and easy to grow. Dog violets have dark foliage and soft purple blossoms. Violets can be planted outside in April or bought from a garden center.

Ranunculus Ranunculus flowers are beautiful in any garden with their many cultivars and exquisite petal shapes. Corm-grown ranunculus blossoms are more difficult than other blooms on this list.

Bachelor's Buttons Bachelor's buttons bring vibrancy to any garden with their frizzy petals and bushy foliage. This plant, often known as cornflower, is blue and different colors.

Nemesia Nemesia flowers are best enjoyed in spring by starting them inside before April. Being cool-weather flowers, you can grow them outdoors and enjoy them in the fall.

Calla Lilies If you missed spring bulb planting, plant calla lilies in summer. Before planting calla lilies in a largely sunny yard, make sure the soil is over 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Gladiolus Gladiolus blooms are corm-based like ranunculus and calla lilies. Gladiolus flowers, which may grow to 5 feet tall with 6-inch flowers, are magnificent and form a striking backdrop behind shorter blooms.
