Ingredients 1 cup white sugar 1 cup light corn syrup ½ cup unsalted butter 4 large eggs ¼ cup bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ teaspoon salt 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped pecans 1 (9 inch) pie shell
In a small saucepan, cook the sugar, corn syrup, and butter over medium heat while stirring frequently until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. After taking off the heat, let cool for about five minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, bourbon, vanilla, and salt until thoroughly blended. Whisk continuously as you gradually add the sugar mixture to the egg mixture. Add pecans and chocolate chips and stir.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until firm and brown, in a preheated oven. Serve hot or cold.
