Ingredients 1 pound ground beef 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce 1 teaspoon white sugar, or to taste
Directions Heat a big skillet on medium-high. Drain and discard fat after browning and crumbling ground beef in the heated skillet for 5–7 minutes.
Simmer ground beef, tomato sauce, sugar, garlic salt, and salt for 20 minutes to mix flavors. Stop cooking and cover the skillet.
While the sauce cooks, boil a big pot of lightly salted water. Stir egg noodles occasionally in boiling water for 7–9 minutes until cooked yet firm to the biting. Drain.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) while egg noodles cook. Grease a 9x13 casserole. Mix sour cream, cream cheese, and onion in a bowl.
Place half the egg noodles in the casserole dish. Add 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 ground meat. Layer again. Top with cheddar. Bake 25–30 minutes in preheated oven until cheese melts and browns.
